Kimmel & Associates Scholarship for Students in Construction
Mission Statement
Having worked in construction for 27 years, the consultants at
Kimmel & Associates have watched and assisted the careers of
professional builders and have seen trends in construction come
and go. A quarter of a century of working for the strongest and
most dynamic construction companies in America has given Kimmel & Associates
a bond with and desire to assist a great industry. We know that
a deep concern held by leading builders in the United States is
the decline in enrollment at colleges and universities in construction
programs and the sense among those builders that they may fall
behind in finding the next generation of young people who will
build the structures where we live, work, and gather. The Kimmel & Associates
Scholarship for Students in Construction intends to encourage college
students to consider construction as a career, and offers financial
assistance toward that noble end.
Through the Fall Semester of 2008, Kimmel & Associates
has awarded 323 scholarships to students at 100 colleges and universities
in 38 states across the United States.
Kimmel & Associates is an Executive Search company serving
the Construction Industry since 1981. We wish to help ensure the
growth of the industry by providing financial support to students
who are committed to finishing a course of studies in construction
management or engineering.
Our close and long association with the construction industry
has led us to establish the Kimmel & Associates Scholarship
for Students in Construction, but it is not our first effort to
help college students further their education. Five years ago,
we established the Joe W. Kimmel Scholarship for students who are
the first in their families to attend college at the University
of North Carolina at Asheville, the university in the town where
Kimmel & Associates is headquartered. We provide financial
assistance to 4 students a year currently and hope to increase
that number as time passes.
